I started my animal paintings with a single image of a dog who’s entire body was made up of typography. This image was so popular that it was selected to be used for the Port Clinton Art Festival poster.  Soon I had many collectors asking for more dog paintings.  Then, the cat people became upset and insisted that I produce feline images.

Humor plays a key role in these illustrative, mixed media paintings.  I love to combine actual photography and type with my paintings and make them as seamless as possible.  Then, I wanted to add some pop culture elements and began giving hats, boots, purses, glasses and more to these animals.

Some paintings are framed while on others the painted image continues around all edges of the canvas.
